By using best practices such as substitution parameters and external replication farm sets, we have been able to reduce the number of needed OpenDeploy configurations. In many cases, a single OD configuration can be used for every project. The key to this is the externalization of the items that change into configuration files and/or workflow variables that are passed to a very smart universal external task for calling OpenDeploy. In some cases, our entire OpenDeploy development effort for a new project takes only a matter of minutes and requires the creation of no new files. |
